The first thing I would do in Karlovy Vary is simply walk through the spa center along the Teplá River. This is where you’ll see the most elegant buildings, the famous colonnades, souvenir shops with spa cups, cafés, and people slowly walking from one spring to another.
The walk between the Grandhotel Pupp, Hot Spring Colonnade, Market Colonnade, Mill Colonnade, and Park Colonnade is easy and beautiful. You don’t need a strict route here, but it makes sense to start near Grandhotel Pupp and continue gradually uphill through the spa zone.
2. Try the hot springs
Tasting the mineral water is one of the most typical things to do in Karlovy Vary. You can buy a small porcelain spa cup in one of the souvenir shops and then try the springs directly at the colonnades.
